Breaking Borders July 2016 Newsletter

We are halfway done with 2016 and there is so much to talk about already!!!

Over the last 6 months we have finished our first year with Dale Pues Ultimate, hosted an International Youth Tournament and Leadership Clinic in Costa Rica, started a growing community outreach in Ciudad Sandino, hosted Nicaragua's first ever Ultimate tournament, and added our first Nicaraguan intern. It has been a whirlwind, but as we look back on what has been accomplished we need to thank The 8th Man team for supporting us and encouraging us along the way. Without the help of you all reading this newsletter, our partners, and the hard work of our staff down in Nica, none of this would be possible. Since August of 2015 we have almost doubled the number of youth and adults playing Ultimate! There are about 120 active players now between 3 cities. We hope to grow that number even more as the year goes along.

In addition to all the exciting news in Nica we also hosted our first Mentor Development Program in Tampa, Fl with 6 students from the University of South Florida. The students were taken through our leadership curriculum and trained how to apply it to Ultimate drills and clinics. They will now be given opportunities to serve locally and internationally.
